Kern Valley MobMov Chapter

This Saturday, May 9th, 2009, we will be showing "Plagues and Pleasures on the Salton Sea", an amazingly funny romp through past and present at California forgotten Salton Sea.  This show will make you laugh until it hurts!  You'll be sorry if you miss it!

The show starts at Dusk, around 8:15 to 8:30 pm and ADMISSION IS ALWAYS FREE. 

We will be showing a second feature, The Wild Wild World of Batwoman, a gogo dancing, mad scientist, monster movie!  You'll love it.
Both movies kid friendly!

Donations go to support the Kern Valley High School ECHO academy. 

I found out about this through a Fark link and am hoping to find a movie in the New Lenox, IL area. My all time favorite movie is "Airplane!"

Glad to have found this, what fun! I actually live very close to the one remaining drive-in movie theater in Atlanta, the Starlight. We LOVE it! This sounds like a lot of fun too, as I have always been a fan of late-night movies.

My favorites are: A Lion in Winter, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Rocky Horror Picture Show (midnight movies are in my blood, what can I say?), Young Frankenstein, and Galaxy Quest.

Hi my name is Craig. I live on the west side of Michigan. This sounds like loads of fun. We have a chapter about an hour away from us in Traverse City. I would like eventually, if possible to start a chapter locally. Money as always is the determining factor.

Almost anything Sci-Fi that's not Horror, especially the newer Slash and Gore. I Like the old classics.
Also like Stargate, Star Trek, Star Wars, Close Encounters of a Third Kind, Terminator, Iron Man, Spider-Man, etc. 

I hope I can put this together. I should mention that I am in a wheelchair so I may have to build something custom to make it work. Plus get a handicap vehicle. I will try and keep you all in touch if this works out. Great Idea Loved the Drive-Ins of Old. I met my wife at a Drive-In we both worked at that has been torn down now. I am 52.

Hey Now!!  First off, one of the best things to happen to me as of late is finding this site.  This has meant the world to me.  Roughly two years ago, I had the idea to show flicks at the place I work. (I work in a hotel that has banquet rooms.)  I don't have alot of friends, (I'm not a Myspace participant, that's probably why), and loved it when people came in and I got to share my love of the drive in and movies with them!  Well, suffice to say, after a few months of talking with these friends, I decided to go for it.  I came at it legally, I got the license/rights to do what I did, and only asked for donations.  I paid for the most of it though, but....IT was Fantastic!!  I'm an old horror buff.   I love horror, spaghetti westerns, b flicks, and the like.  Anywho, just overwhelmed that I found you guys.  See?  I knew I wasn't the only one out there!!

Hey craig.  I'm a newbie to this site, but I gotta tell you friend, go for it!!  I'm a horror fan myself, but an oldie one.  I love the Universals.  I really don't care what type of movie you're into, I just love you for being here and wanting to participate!!  Dude!!  Glad to know you is all I can say!!!  Hope your friend for life!!!

I must lead a cheltered life as this is the first I heard of it. i stumbled across it in a google search mobmov??? what the heck is that...:) anyways, iv'e had a projector for about three years now and always wanted to do production type stuff but sharing it with others in the drivein style never crossed my mind. great idea!!! and the legal stuff is worked out. nice. I just got into it this week so here goes.
favs - days of thunder, monty python, national treasures, ??? suspense drama comedy. I like movies just never watch much. this drivin thing gotta work.
I was thinking that walkin could work as well. Most mp3, ipod ect have radio tuners, so not to worry about offensive noise (external speakers). now to take it up a notch - can we have game wars, split screen , two projectors, head to head comp , winner take all. ps3 wii wireless. sweet ?
